Every distillery in Scotland boasts of some distinguishing characteristic. For Dalwhinnie, it is the highest one. It only just qualifies as a Speyside whisky being 25 miles south of that region. It has, however, distinguished itself by becoming one of the Classic Malt range. Surprisingly the nose is faintly phenolic but on the palate it has a remarkably long lasting development.
A fine whisky.
