20cl. 16year old. 40%proofWOW!
This classic Islay malt with the driest & most sustained attack of any readily available whisky has, in recent years, soared to international stardom. Visitors to the distillery are placed in armchairs as they like to "give their guests plenty of time".
The house style of the 16 year old is dry, smokey & complex. The dryness is at first set off by the sweetness of the sherry character, but ,as the palate develops, oily grassy & salty notes emerge.
As featured in “101 Whiskies to Try Before You Die” by Ian Buxton (see the Books section).
