20cl. 3year old. 46%vol.
Chapter 9 from St George's Distillery is their first peated single malt whisky to be made available to the public. It has been matured solely in Bourbon casks and has a fantastic smokey taste but not too much on the nose. It is non chillfiltered.
St George's Distillery is England's first whisky distillery and is situated on the River Thet in Norfolk. The malt barley is grown locally and the water is sourced from a huge chalk aquifer beneath the distillery. With a drier climate than Scotland the maturation is faster and so the wait is shorter.
The distillery was founded by James Nelstrop and is managed and run as a family concern.
Iain Henderson of Whisky Magazine fame, with a lifetime's knowledge of distilling, provided the expertise and support as their first distiller.
Each new malt spirit and whisky becomes a new "Chapter" and Chapter6 is the second bottling of true "whisky" from the distillery. Malt spirit only becomes "whisky" when it has matured for at least 3 years.
Our customers have been surprised and impressed at the smoothness and flavour of this young spirit and we believe that it will be a malt to be reckoned with in the future.
Definitely one for the collection!
