This is a real treat from the pre-closure days of the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery. Distilled in 1966, then bottled in 2011, this is Bottle Number 111 from only 202 bottles in the cask.
The whole set consists of a decanter-style bottle, Certificate of Ownership personally signed by Master Distiller Stuart Nickerson and two Glenglassaugh-engraved cut crystal glasses all mounted in a satin-lined genuine wooden box.
The whisky is bottled at the distillery at natural cask strength and non-chill filtered. It is light bronze with a dark treacly aroma. The taste is reminiscent of the finest rich fruit cake with a long, lingering wood spice finish.
