Buffalo Trace bourbon is distilled in Frankfort in Kentucky. With plentiful pure limestone water & rich river-bottom loam, distillation was soon undertaken by early pioneers who settled there. Buffalo trace stands as one of America's oldest distilling sites.
It is aged in new oak barrels which, when finished with, disappear to be reused in Scotland. As with most bourbons it is relatively sweet compared to Scottish malts but a little water moderates this sweetness.
Attached to some bottles is a cocktail recipe leaflet with some interesting suggestions for its use.
