Named after the Dublin distillery where Powers was produced throughout the nineteenth century, the John's Lane Release epitomises the recent resurgence of the old fashioned pot still Irish whiskey. Many commentators are now wondering how and why it ever went out of fashion in the first place!
It is a beautiful deep bronze colour with leathery aromas like the inside of a classic sports car. The taste is full bodied and mouthy with vanilla, honey and dried fruit. Chocolate orange comes out on the finish.
The attractive packaging includes a fold-out copy of a drawing of the John's Lane Distillery in Dublin as it was in the 1880s, making it an ideal gift.
